LIFT CAMPAIGN

As the month of May came to an end, so did the LIFT Campaign that began in 2016.  Over that three-year period, we were able to lower the principle owed on the mortgage by over $300K! This was largely possible due to the generosity of many members at Tom’s Creek through the LIFT campaign which raised a total of $223K.

Due to the success we have experienced with the old LIFT Campaign, it is with much excitement that I am writing to announce that we are officially beginning a new LIFT Campaign in July 2019 that will last for two years.  Currently, there is $501K remaining on the mortgage principle; and, if we can continue making the payments, we have been making over the past few years, we will be under $300K by the time this new campaign comes to a close.  It is also with much excitement for me to announce that when we do get to the $300K mark, we have an agreement with a generous donor who has let us know that they will pay off the remaining debt.  Therefore, it is very possible for us to be out of debt by the time this new campaign ends!

For those of you who are wondering what we will do with any extra funds after the mortgage is paid off, we will put that money in the Jimmy Hill Enduring Legacy Fund.  This fund was set up in May to have money set aside for the maintenance of the church as a way to honor the late Jimmy Hill who did so much for Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church.  I would like to thank you all again for your generosity.  It really has made my job easy as the Finance Chairperson.  I would also like to give a special thanks to Bill Coburn who orchestrated the old LIFT Campaign.  We are in the fortunate position we are in largely due to his contributions as Finance Chairperson in the years prior to me assuming the role.  If you have any questions or would like to pledge to the LIFT Campaign (you can do so at any time), please let me know.

LIFT Campaign Pledge slips are available in

the pews and on the table in the Lobby.

Please place completed slips in the offering

plates or give to Andrew Boller
