TCUMC Promised Land Property - The Promised Land is located off of Rt 140 just east of Emmitsburg.  The entrance is between Tom's Creek Church Road and Four Points Bridge Road on the opposite side of the roadway - look for our church sign!

On July 30th, 2011 the Festival was held at the Promised Land Property and was a fun day for all!  It was a hot day, but we hope you came out to enjoy the food and fun! A benefit for the building fund, there was loads of fun for all ages, no admission fee, and all parking was free as always.

There was a car show, antique tractor show, and motorcycle show, all with awards. A parade was held in the afternoon.

Door prizes were awarded every hour.  Live country, blue grass, and inspirational music was provided all day by Toms Creek UMC's PB & J and by the Blue Grass Chapel Band.

New this year was pit beef barbecue, cherry and apple pie, and cotton candy.  These joined last year’s favorites of Barbecue Chicken dinners by Vigilant Hose Co., Coke & Pepsi products, hand dipped Schwan’s ice cream, hamburgers, and hot dogs.

The crowd (young and old) enjoyed the Moonbounce, pony rides, face painting, petting zoo, the new dunking booth, clowns, golf target, golf ball drop, basketball shot, and soybean and corn box.  Rides include a covered wagon, a barrel train, and later in the day Vigilant Hose provided vertical rides on their Aerial Ladder Truck.  Blood pressure checks were available by Emmitsburg Ambulance personnel.

There were craft tables, a silent auction with a ton of items.  Many, many theme baskets, the Buy-a-Hat tent, wool spinning demos all day, goat milking, and even a pie-eating contest!
